Out of Habit

I developed a habit of not looking at the ones I love in the eyes. Because see I once loved a friend so much I stop looking her in the eyes, so I'd never have to see her go.  In the end it didn't do me better for that friend left without a sound. Now my eyes look all around for her but they might as well be blind for her because they come up blank. I fear the same event will repeat itself. This is why I have a difficult time looking people in the eye when I become close to them. It's out of habit you see I fear they'll leave too soon, without a trace. I can't embrace the thought of forgetting another face.
